Our client felt that the common areas of their home were very compartmentalized and wanted a more open floor plan that also emphasized their beautiful backyard view. The central fireplace was removed to allow for an entirely open great room and a clear line of sight from the main entrance to the backyard, allowing their wonderful view to be visible from all angles. Our client wanted the style of the home to reflect several furniture pieces and an entry door they had picked up on their world travels. Several design elements were coordinated with these pieces through the use of stained woods, arch details, dark metals, and complementing colors. Rich tones and bright accent colors were used in various materials to bring an energetic and eclectic feel to the home.
