Marrokal’s unique design-build process
A remodel is a big project with a lot of different stages. It can seem a little intimidating if you’ve never been through the process before or don’t know what to expect from your remodeling company. That’s why the Marrokal design-build process is based on open communication with our clients. We believe communication is essential to meeting the client’s schedule, staying on budget and exceeding expectations.
If you’ve ever wondered what happens during the different stages of a remodeling project, here are the steps we go through with every client to provide an uncompromising and positive experience:
- PROJECT PROGRAMMING/ BUDGET DEVELOPMENT
One of our experienced design consultants will meet with you at your home to better understand and identify your goals and wishes as they relate specifically to your home and site conditions. During a follow-up meeting at our design center, preliminary design concepts and budgetary goals are discussed. - FIELD MEASURE/INSPECTION OF EXISTING CONDITIONS
Once you have approved a design service agreement, members of our design team will examine and review the existing systems and infrastructure of your home. They will take detailed measurements and photograph your property in preparation for conceptual floor plans and elevations. - PRELIMINARY DESIGN MEETINGS
Design meetings are usually held at our design center where you will be presented with concept drawings and preliminary cost estimates. In many cases, you will be directly involved with our team in developing your project design. Your input will aid in the further development of your project’s drawings and specifications.. - CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT/BUILDING SPECIFICATIONS
When your design is fully developed, you will have the opportunity to review it in detail before you approve. Once you authorize the agreement, your project will officially be “A Go!” During the next few weeks, complete construction documents are prepared for submittal to your local building department. - PRODUCT SELECTION/DESIGN OF FINISH MATERIALS
Now that all the engineering details have been approved, it’s time to add some panache to the mix. Our A.S.I.D.-certified interior design team will work closely with you to coordinate the style and colors of tile, cabinetry, counter-tops, lighting, and other products and materials needed to complete your project. Let the creative juices flow! - BUILDING PERMIT PHASE
During the permitting process, a pre-construction site meeting with your design consultant and our production team is held at your home to review your project before construction begins. Once building permits are issued, a second onsite meeting will take place to discuss the first steps of construction. - CONSTRUCTION
Once the construction plans have been thoroughly reviewed, we’ll start the real heavy duty construction. The Marrokal build team will turn the design plans you approved into reality. Specialized sub-contractors will provide highly-skilled work when necessary. The construction phase may take a couple of weeks or several months depending on the scale of your remodel. - INSTALLATION OF FINISHES
After all the major construction has been completed, it’s time to add in the design elements. This may include tiling a floor, staining cabinets, painting walls and adding knobs and light fixtures. In this stage, your remodeled space truly begins to look like home again. - CLIENT WALK-THROUGH
Now that the paint is dry and all the sawdust is swept away, it’s time for you to take an official walk-through of your newly remodeled home with your Project Manager. The walk-through is your opportunity to see how your vision has come to life. This is also your chance to ask questions and point out any areas of concern. Don’t be afraid to be honest. Our goal is to bring your exact vision to life. - FINAL ADJUSTMENTS/CLEANUP
Marrokal is committed to complete customer satisfaction. If there is any part of your remodel that does not meet your expectations, the Marrokal Build Team will come back in and address it. We won’t leave until you are happy. After you have approved the project, the Build Team will do a final and thorough cleanup, leaving their workspace spic and span so you can start enjoying your new home right away.
