What’s the Best Layout for Your Kitchen Remodel?

Everyone has different needs when it comes to getting their kitchen remodeled. Some families love to bake, so they want their kitchen to have at least two ovens, plenty of space for rolling out dough and mixing and plenty of storage space for pans and mixing bowls. Other kitchen owners want to emphasize more on cooking over the stove, so they want lots of room in the refrigerator for fresh ingredients, room for exotic and rare spices and plenty of burners for multitasking.  Some home owners really don’t love to cook that much, so they want their kitchen to have plenty of space for food but with more of an emphasis on aesthetics and entertaining.

The boiler plate kitchen remodel starts out with the triangle of functionality. This means having your sink, stove and refrigerator in a triangle like configuration. This allows you to store your food in one area, cook in another area and clean in third area. This separates the functionality of a kitchen so that you don’t have people stepping over each other doing different jobs at the same time. It allows a stream of activity from the refrigerator to the cleaning area, whether that is a sink alone or sink and dishwasher. After the initial triangle configuration of the kitchen is established, the possibilities are almost limitless.

Take a look at the kitchen remodeling photo above. Notice how the design uses the triangle of functionality while still maintaining a very unique and stylish look. There is tons of counter space for cooking and baking. There is also room for people to sit at the counter so that they can socialize with whoever is doing the cooking and cleaning. This feature can also be used as a bar at parties and for a convenient place to eat breakfast. The space is also easily accessible from multiple locations, making this kitchen a focal point for activity in the home.
