Now and then, we like to share some of our award-winning homes like this one we call Canyon View.
We’re proud to announce that Marrokal Design & Remodeling has once again been awarded the Chrysalis Award 2017 for the Bathroom remodel category, over $75,000.
The name Canyon View, as you can see from the beautiful new master bathroom pictures, is fitting. A soak in the new freestanding bathtub made of volcanic limestone is perfect to wash away the stress from the day and let your mind wander as you gaze out at the vast open canyon.
When we started working on this home, the original master bathroom had not been touched since the 1980s.
As you look at the pictures, you can see how function, design, and space were all lacking. The bathroom was also very dark.
The homeowners wanted a spa-like retreat, a place they could escape to for deep relaxation with a modern and hip style. Of course, extra storage space was a must.
We were able to do that by relocating the walk-in closet to another area of the room. This allowed us to open up the bathroom floor plan, giving us plenty of new possibilities like the nine-and-a-half-foot-long His and Her vanity counter with cabinets underneath that maximizes storage and adds beauty and style to the master bathroom.
These days a lot of homeowners are opting for a curbless shower for many reasons such as a simple style that makes it accessible for all ages and even wheelchairs. We designed the shower with a modern accent tile in a limestone herringbone pattern. Can you see how it really brings life and contrast to the design? The marble pebble shower pan gives a natural, relaxing feel that your feet need after a long day. We extended the pebble to wrap around the tub and draw your eye to its curves.
The additional cabinetry and floating shelves were exactly what the homeowners needed to give them plenty of space for decorating and storing bathroom essentials.
The resulting sophisticated and chic retreat is the oasis our homeowners were looking for, and it’s why this award-winning bathroom remodel won the Chrysalis Award, making it our 32nd Chrysalis since 2005.
